Frequently asked questions.
General
Where do sessions take place?
All sessions are virtual, so you can join from anywhere. You’ll just need a quiet, comfortable space and a stable internet connection.
Is everything confidential?
Everything shared in our sessions is confidential. I follow the ethical guidelines of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) to ensure your privacy and safety. Google Meet is used and provides secure encryption by default
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide 24 hours notice of cancellation. We will reschedule for a more suitable time.
Somatic Psychotherapy
What is Somatic Psychotherapy?
Somatic Psychotherapy works with the body and nervous system directly — not just talking through what happened, but helping your body find its way back to safety, regulation, and connection.
Do I need prior experience with somatic work?
No experience is necessary. We move at a pace that feels right for you, and you're always in the driver's seat of your own process.
How is this different from talk therapy?
Talk therapy focuses on thoughts and narrative. Somatic Psychotherapy incorporates that alongside body awareness, since the nervous system often holds onto stress and experience in ways that words alone don't fully reach.
Parent Management Training (PMT)
What is PMT?
PMT is a structured, skills-based program for parents and caregivers, focused on building practical tools to navigate challenging behaviors and strengthen connection at home.
Who is PMT for?
PMT is for parents and caregivers looking for concrete strategies and support. It is not a judgment on your parenting or your child. We approach behavior as communication, not as something to label or fix.
How does the PMT package work?
PMT is offered as an 11-session package.
What do I need to complete before starting?
Before your first session, we ask that you complete both a Parent Form and a Child Form — you'll receive these links after booking.
Breathwork
What is breathwork?
Breathwork is a guided practice of conscious breathing techniques that help release stress, soothe the nervous system, and restore balance in body and mind.
Do I need prior experience?
No experience is necessary. Whether you’re brand new or familiar with breathwork, each session meets you exactly where you are.
How do I prepare for my first session?
Make sure you’ve taken care of your basic needs (water, bathroom, etc.) before we begin, as we’ll be practicing uninterrupted. It is recommended to practice at least an hour after eating.
